Dog Education

When customers are searching for a puppy, it is typically because they want to possess sole influence to form the puppy, or because they do not need a dog that comes together with proverbial baggage. Sadly, many customers buy their dogs out of pet shops and online sources and don't have any idea that the puppy they're getting might be damaged. In accordance with the Humane Society of the United States 99% of dogs sold in pet shops come from puppy mills. Puppy mills are the scourge of the pet business and their presence has been hidden from the public. While pet rescue businesses have been fighting these surgeries for several years, Oprah Winfrey was the individual largely responsible for bring puppy mills into the public eye. Puppy mills are centers where puppies are factory farmed, one mill could produce tens of thousands of puppies yearly. Puppy mill puppies normally do not receive any health care, never leave their cages, and get no human contact. Why should I care? It is not humane Breeding dogs are doomed to life in a cage with no human contact, exercise or healthcare. They don't leave their cages.even to go to the bathroom. They're bred continuously, and once they can no longer reproduce they're put down. The dogs are lucky enough to escape since they're the commodity, but life because they know it's not nice, nor is it conducive to good health and nature. The only thing pup mill puppies know about life's contained inside the boundaries of their cage. The overcrowded, dirty conditions and lack of healthcare further helps in the spread of disease and poor temperaments. When they're between 5-8 weeks old, they're sold to pet stores and pup brokers that in turn, sell them on the web and in newspapers. Emotionally and physically ruined puppies Between 3-5 weeks of age, emotional tendencies appear in pups. This is when they learn about bite inhibition and aggression, psychological temperaments have been set, fear of strangers emerges, plus they begin to respond to sites and sounds. While socialization can be successful through 12 weeks of age, many behaviours and tendencies have been already set by week 5. When puppies aren't properly socialized they become adult dogs who're emotionally frigid and fearful, or the contrary, grossly over reactive with high anxiety. In both cases, aggression is very likely to follow. This probably isn't what you'd in mind for the pup of your dreams. Puppy mill puppies have a tendency to be sick, with diseases that might present within days and others which might not present to a year or more. So long as a breeding puppy can breed, they're bred, despite illness.
